First Step: Get a shoebox and wrap it
Before you can begin the shopping to pack the shoebox, you obviously need to have a shoebox to fill. You can use an old shoebox that you have kept or it is possible to go to most shoe stores where they will most likely be willing to donate an empty shoebox. Once you have your box, please wrap the top and bottom SEPARETLY.

Second Step: Pick age and gender
It is essential to first decide a gender and age to make a box for so that you can buy that adequate supplies needed for that particular box.

Third Step: Fill the box

This is probably the best part of making a shoebox, the joy of filling the box. If you would like ideas of items that can go inside the box, please look at our list of recommended items to put in the box. However, please look at our list of items that CANNOT go inside the box like food, war toys, weapons,
etc. Here is the List of Items to Remove from Boxes

Fourth Step:
Label the box
Once you have finished filling the box, you must label the box to distinguish who the box is made for. You can get girl labels and boy labels here.

Fifth Step: Include Donation
Please donate $7 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. You can give online by using our EZGIVE option, or you can write a check to Samaritan's Purse (note "OCC" on memo line) and place it in an envelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or your family are preparing more than one shoe box, please make one combined donation.

Sixth Step: Drop off Shoebox
You can drop off your shoebox at any drop-off center. You can find the closest drop-off location by going to the Drop-Off page.
