Quick facts about the history of OCC

• Started in the United Kingdom in 1991 as an outreach to Romanian Orphans

• Began in the North America in 1993 with a collection of 28,000 boxes

• In 2000 we collected our 10 millionth box, actually reaching over 13 million that year

• To date we have collected over 54 million boxes

• The collection goal for 2007 is 4.8 million in the U.S.; 8 million worldwide from our 11 sending countries

• Here are the numbers of boxes collected by the Auburn Collection Center since 2003

  • 2003 – 19,370 boxes

  • 2004 – 20,263 boxes

  • 2005 – 20,752 boxes

  • 2006 – 21,855 boxes

  • 2007 – 24,719 boxes

  • 2008 – 25,341 boxes

  • Total – 132,300 boxes since 2003!
